Since RCC sections are mostly non-circular, they undergo twisting and warping in the application of torque hence torsional formula is not applicable in this case. Hence, designing is done as per code.
IS456 suggest a simplified approach based on “Skew Bending Theory” to design the member subjected to torsion by converting torsion into equivalent shear and bending moment.
