Alluvial Soil: It is the soil which is deposited from suspension in running water.
Lacustrine soil: It is the soil which deposited from suspension in fresh & still water of lake.
Marine soil: It is the soil which is deposited from suspension in sea water.
Aeoline Soil: It is the soil which transported by blowing wind.
Glacial Soil: It is the type of soil which is transported by ice.
The process of generation of soil from glacier is known as drift.
Colluvial Soil: It is the type of soil which is transported by gravitational force and is also termed as Talus Soil.
Loess Soil: It is uniformly graded wind blown silt cemented by calcium compounds, It is also termed as collapsible Soil.
Marl Soil: It is fine grained calcium carbonated soil of marine origin & is formed due to decomposition of bone of animals and plants.
Tuff soil: A fine grained slightly cemented volcanic ash, it consist of high percentage of montmorillonite due to which it exhibit high shrinkage & swelling properties.
Laterite Soil: It is formed due to leaching of silica, alumina & ferric oxide, which is generally found in hilly areas or in humid climate.
Muck Soil: It is mixture of fine particle inorganic soil & black decomposed organic matter.
Peat Soil: It is highly organic soil which almost entirely consist of decomposed vegetative matter in different stages, it is highly fibrous soil.
Loam Soil: It is the mixture if sand, silt and clay.
Gumbo Soil: It is black sticky slightly plastic soil.
Black cotton soil: It is residual soil formed from basalt & have excess amount of montmorillonite.
Varved Clay: Contains alternate layer of silt & clay.
Moor um Soil : It is graveled mixed with red clay.
Underrated Soil: The soil which becomes hard due to moderate to high temperature & pressure.
