It is elastic method of analysis of slab. Plastic hinge in slab is in form of line hinge corresponding to widest crack pattern that is also termed as yield line.
Guidelines to draw yield line:
- It must be straight line.
- It must terminate at slab boundary or intersects other yield line.
- Yield line acts as axis of rotation. Each segment of the slab act as rigid body after formation of yield line.
